
Christiane Runyan
Impact Analyst
Christiane Runyan holds a PhD in Environmental Science with a concentration in hydrology from the University of Virginia. She teaches hydrology at Johns Hopkins University and is a visiting scholar at the University of Virginia.
In 2015, Chrissy co-authored a book called Global Deforestation, which was published by Cambridge University Press. Her research broadly focuses on how deforestation affects hydrological and biogeochemical processes. She conducts quantitative analysis including GHG calculations involving tools such as the Carbon Disclosure Project, specifically Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, for corporate clients.
Chrissy earned her B.S. from the University of Wyoming where she competed on their college rodeo team. Prior to starting her studies at UVA, she worked on urban hydrology issues at the Center for Urban Environmental Research and Education at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She has a 3-year old daughter and lives with her family in Washington, D.C.
