Incorporated in 1913, Trane is a century-old heating, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment provider, long recognized for excellence in residential and commercial HVAC solutions. With its parent company, Trane Technologies, gaining a reputation as a “global climate innovator,” its commercial division needed support in shifting brand perception in U.S. markets to emphasize its capabilities in sustainability alongside its traditional HVAC capabilities. In Fall 2024, Trane’s Texas sales and marketing team partnered with EPM’s Anna Clark to help bridge the awareness gap and build trust in Trane’s decarbonization solutions in key markets. The campaign helped Trane secure opportunities for visibility and differentiation through awards, speaking opportunities and other sales ambassadorship tactics. Within the first four months of the campaign, Trane earned the prestigious Texas Decarbonization Award from the U.S. Green Building Council for its customer, Credit Human, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. The strategy also incorporated community relations to position Trane’s sales leaders as authorities on sustainable building technologies, strengthening Trane’s reputation in the sustainability movement while expanding market opportunities in Texas and beyond.

Shark Stewards is a conservation-focused nonprofit working to eliminate the global shark fin trade through education and policy change from the USA to Asia, especially in the major import and consumption hubs of Malaysia, Singapore and China. In partnership with Shark Stewards, EarthPeople Media donated pro bono services to support a grassroots campaign in Texas. Enlisting the support of 20+ aquariums, museums and nonprofit organizations across the state along with local businesses and families, we raised awareness for this issue through tabling at events, impact storytelling and op-ed writing, and lobbying at the Texas Capitol in Austin. These efforts supported the legislative push spearheaded by Humane Society and Oceana, which ultimately led Governor Greg Abbott to sign H.B. 1579 into law in 2015, making Texas the 10th state, and the first red state, to prohibit the sale, trade, purchase and transportation of shark fins.
